Lick Brook Falls Trail

Lick Brook Falls Trail on the Sweedler Preserve
Lick Brook
Park Here
Ithaca, NY

Parking:
Park on the side of Town Line Road right before the single lane bridge as seen on the map below. Half a dozen cars can fit easily on the gravel, although I have never seen more than a couple there.

*There is access to this trail from below at a parking lot off route 13 near the 13/34 split but its no where near as scenic so not recommended.

Terrain:
There is a marked trail that is easily visible.  It can become steep in areas and there are switchbacks near the base by the lower waterfall.  Starting elevation at the top is about 920' ASL to approx 440' at the bottom.

Scenery:
Both coniferous and deciduous trees cover the hill.  Lick Brook can be seen down in the gorge tumbling down several cascades and small falls as it makes its way downward.   Lick Brook Falls is ~100' tall and can be seen through the trees from the trail.  Be careful near the ledge, there are no barriers and the trail gets very close to the edge as pictured below.  The lower falls is a 50' cascade and you can get up very close.
